Margaret De Patta
November 27, 2010
So, because I'm a little old lady at heart I was delighted to discover that you can watch episodes of Antiques Roadshow Online. I love learning about antiques in general but am obviously most interested in the jewelry. I could hardly contain myself when they showed the work of Margaret De Patta, an avant-garde artist working in California in the 1940's. The jewelry was so non-traditional that I immediately needed to know more. Turns out Margaret was part of a movement in the 40's called the Modernist Jewelry movement which was comprised of artists concerned with making jewelry as wearable art.
