So, because I'm a little old lady at heart I was delighted to discover that you can watch episodes of Antiques Roadshow Online. I love learning about antiques in general but am obviously most interested in the jewelry. I could hardly contain myself when they showed the work of Margaret De Patta, an avant-garde artist working in California in the 1940's. The jewelry was so non-traditional that I immediately needed to know more.
Blow Out is a fantastic new spot opening soon in Portland's Pearl District. They will be a blow out salon and jewelry boutique and will be carrying Paper Treasure earrings and bracelets. The grand opening party is set for December 2nd with a Paper Treasure trunk show. More details to come! (http://www.blowoutgirl.com)
My friend and jewelry designer Brehan Todd (http://www.brehantodd.com) is off to a fantastic start as the new guest blogger for Flutter. Because so many of us Flutter jewelry designers are so taken by antique jewelry she did a lovely write up on our personal heirloom collections. Pictured above are a couple of my favorite pieces. The onyx ring is one that I wear almost daily and it belonged to my grandmother. The two cameos were my mothers and I treasure them both.
Flutter has been officially redecorated for the Holidays and I hear it's looking extra magical-- I can't wait to stop by to see all their goodies. They're fully stocked with all new Paper Treasure jewelry too so be sure to swing by! Select pieces available on their website too! (http://www.flutterclutter.com)
